Series planner

shape a whole lesson series, with support that fades

From goals to a manageable series

This page takes the goals from your Pedagogical Roadmap and turns them into a lesson-by-lesson plan. You tell it two things: where your students stand per goal, and how independent they should be by the end. The planner then spreads the goals over the lessons, picks fitting principles from the science of learning, and fades the support step by step: first you model, then you work together, then they work independently.

1 · Your goals (from the Roadmap - set per goal where your class stands)

2 · Your series

The plan updates as you change these. Everything is saved in your browser.

The fading of support follows the gradual release of responsibility ("I do - we do - you do"; Pearson & Gallagher, 1983) and Rosenshine's principles of instruction (guided then independent practice). The level choice per goal follows the expertise reversal effect (what helps novices can slow experts down). Revisiting earlier goals in later lessons uses spaced practice.
